Welcome
Call to Worship:
L: Hey, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; you who have no money, come and eat!
All: Come buy without money and without price.
L: Why spend your money for that which does not nurture you?
All: Why labor for that which does not satisfy?
L: Listen carefully and eat what is good, delight yourselves in rich spiritual food.
All: Come to the Lord, learn and be fed.
Song – I Love to Tell the Story – UMH 156
I love to tell the story of unseen things above,
of Jesus and his glory, of Jesus and his love.
I love to tell the story, because I know ‘tis true;
it satisfies my longings as nothing else can do.
Refrain:
I love to the tell the story, ‘twill be my theme in glory,
to tell the old, old story of Jesus and his love.
I love to tell the story more wonderful it seems
than all the golden fancies of all our golden dreams.
I love to tell the story, it did so much for me;
and that is just the reason I tell it now to thee.
Refrain
I love to tell the story; ‘tis pleasant to repeat
what seems, each time I tell it, more wonderfully sweet.
I love to tell the story, for some have never heard
the message of salvation from God’s own holy Word.
Refrain
I love to tell the story, for those who know it best
seem hungering and thirsting to hear it like the rest.
And when, in scenes of glory, I sing the new, new song,
‘twill be the old, old story that I have loved so long.
Refrain
Prayer:
Almighty and Creating God, as we gather together to worship you, may we be ever mindful of the beauty around us that you have created. May we be grateful for the privilege of being your child and a co-worker of Jesus, guided and equipped by the Holy Spirit. Bless this time of worship as we join our hearts together and draw near to hear you speak to us this day. May we find healing, reconciliation and transformation in our lives. Grant that we may know the great joy that comes from sharing what we have received from you with others. Amen.
Our Offering to God
Doxology – Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow
Offering Prayer
Scripture Reading – Matthew 13:33
He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour until all of it was leavened.”
L: For the Word of God in scripture; for the Word of God within us and for the Word of God among us we say:
All: Thanks be to God.

Prayers of the People
Prayer of Confession – UMH 8
Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Passing the Peace
The Great Thanksgiving – UMH 9
P: The Lord be with you
All: And also with you
P: Lift up your hearts.
All: We lift them up to the Lord.
P: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God
All: It is right to give our thanks and praise.
P: And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven we praise your name and join their unending hymn:
All: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
P: And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ’s offering for us as we proclaim the mystery of faith.
All: Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.
The Lord’s Prayer – UMH 895
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory. Amen
Sharing the Bread and Cup: All are invited to receive the sacrament of the body and blood of Christ.
Song – Bread of the World – UMH 624
Bread of the world in mercy broken,
wine of the soul in mercy shed,
by whom the words of life were spoken,
and in whose death our sins are dead.
Look on the heart by sorrow broken,
look on the tears by sinners shed;
and be thy feast to us the token
that by they grace our souls are fed.

Song – Precious Name – UMH 536
Take the name of Jesus with you, child of sorrow and of woe;
it will joy and comfort give you; take it them where’er you go.
Refrain:
Precious name, O how sweet!
Hope of earth and joy of heaven.
Precious name, O how sweet! Hope of earth and joy of heaven
Take the name of Jesus ever as a shield from every snare; if
temptations round you gather, breath that holy name in prayer.
Refrain
O the precious name of Jesus! How it thrills our souls with joy,
when his loving arms receive us, and his songs our tongues employ.
Refrain
Benediction
