A Biographical Sketch of Rev. Taylor Mertins and Family

Rev Mertins was be welcomed into the Cokesbury UMC Church family as pastor on Sunday July 2, 2017. Rev. Mertins previously served at St. John’s UMC in Staunton, VA for the 4 years. He and his wife Lindsey will be celebrating their 4th wedding anniversary on April 27th which is also their son Elijah’s 2nd birthday.  Rev. Mertins asks for your prayers.

Rev. Mertins was born and raised in Alexandria, VA and attended Aldersgate UMC in the Ft. Hunt area. He graduated from James Madison University in 2010 with a B.A. in Religious Studies. In 2013, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Duke Divinity School with a Masters of Divinity. He is an ordained elder in the Virginia Conference and has been worshipping at different United Methodist Churches his entire life.
