Song – Blessed Assurance – UMH 369
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God, born of his Spirit, washed in his blood.
Refrain This is my story, this is my song. Praising my Savior all the day long;
this is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long.
Perfect submission, perfect delight, visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
angels descending bring from above echoes of mercy, whispers of love. Refrain
Perfect submission, all is at rest; I in my Savior am happy and blest,
watching and waiting, looking above, filled with his goodness, lost in his love. Refrain

Prayer:
(All) Gracious, Loving God, We come before you today to offer our worship and praise. We gather together around you with thanksgiving on our lips and love in our hearts. We come to surrender our lives to you, and have them redirected by the inspiration of your living word. In coming before you, we catch a glimpse of your glory and for a moment we are lost in wonder, love and praise. Bring to life in us the qualities of your kingdom so that we, being continually surprised by your Spirit, may open our ears to hear the cries of your people. Open our hearts to love and our hands to respond by delivering the generosity of your kingdom. Amen

Scripture Reading – Matthew 13:33-35
Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour until all of it was leavened. Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable. So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet: “I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world.”

Prayer of Confession:
(All) Holy God, You call us to change our ways and so we make our confession. We are steeped in selfishness and sin. We are slow to commit ourselves to your high calling of love. We are too quick to criticize and too slow to encourage. We are too quick to anger, too slow to bless. Paralyzed by the needs of the world, we even find it easier to do nothing than to engage caringly with those in need around us. Lord forgive us. Heal us with your Spirit and restore within us your gracious love that brings joy and peace. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Song – Have Thine Own Way, Lord – UMH 382
Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way! Thou art the potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after thy will, while I am waiting, yielded and still.
Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way! Search me and try me, Savior today!
Power, all power, surely is thine! Touch me and heal me, Savior divine!
Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way! Hold o’er my being absolute sway.
Fill with thy Spirit till all shall see Christ only, always, living in me!

Song – Together We Serve – TFWS 2175
Daniel Charles Damon CCLI# 3379644
Together we serve, united by love, inviting God’s world to the glorious feast.
We work and we pray through sorrow and joy, extending your love to the last and the least.
We seek to become, a beacon of hope, a lamp for the heart and a light for the feet.
We learn year by year, to let love shine through util we see Christ in each person we meet.
Together by grace, we witness and work, remembering Jesus, in whom we grow strong.
Together we serve in Spirit and truth, remembering love is the strength of our song.
