Song – It is Well with My Soul – UMH 377
Horatio G. Spafford and Philip P. Bliss
When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll;
whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, It is well, it is well with my soul.
It is well (it is well), with my soul (with my soul), it is well, it is well, with my soul.
Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, let this blest assurance control,
that Christ has regarded my helpless estate, and hath shed his own blood for my soul.
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole,
is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more, praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
And, Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, the clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
the trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, even so, it is well with my soul.

(All) Most Holy God, since our birth we have been searching- for love, for security, for recognition, for purpose, for comfort. All of these are fine pearls but the kingdom of heaven is a pearl of great worth- more valuable than all of these. May we seek sincerely and diligently for this most valuable treasure you offered to us- to follow in Jesus’ footsteps and live in your presence guided and energized by the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Scripture Reading – Matthew 13:44-46
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which someone found and hid; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls; on finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.”

Message – Treasure

Song – I Surrender All – UMH 354
J.W. Van Deventer and W.S. Weeden
All to Jesus I surrender, all to him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust him, in his presence daily live.
I surrender all (I surrender all), I surrender all (I surrender all),
all to thee, my blessed Savior, I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender, humbly at his feet I bow,
worldly pleasures all forsaken; take me, Jesus, take me now.
All to Jesus I surrender; make me, Savior, wholly thine;
let me feel the Holy Spirit, truly know that thou art mine.
All to Jesus I surrender; Lord, I give myself to thee;
fill me with thy love and power; let thy blessing fall on me.

Song – Since Jesus Came into My Heart – TFWS 2140
R.H. McDaniel and Charles H. Gabriel
What a wonderful change in my life has been wrought since Jesus came into my heart!
I have light in my soul for which long I had sought since Jesus came into my heart!
Since Jesus came into my heart(into my heart), since Jesus came into my heart(into my
heart), floods of joy o’er my soul like the sea billows roll, since Jesus came into my heart.

I have ceased from my wandering and going astray, since Jesus came into my heart!
And my sins, which were many, are all washed away, since Jesus came into my heart!
I’m possessed of a hope that is steadfast and sure, since Jesus came into my heart!
And no dark clouds of doubt now my pathway obscure, since Jesus came into my heart!
There’s a light in the valley of death now for me, since Jesus came into my heart!
And the gates of the City beyond I can see, since Jesus came into my heart!
