Scripture Reading – James 5:14
Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed.
P: Bless the Lord, O my soul!
All: and all that is within me, bless God’s holy name!
P: Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all God’s benefits.
All: The Lord forgives all our iniquity and heals all our diseases.
P: The Lord redeems our lives from the pit and crowns us with steadfast love and mercy.

Prayer – O God, the giver of health and salvation, we give thanks to you for the gift of oil. As your holy apostles anointed many who were sick and healed them, so pour out your Holy Spirit on us and on this gift, that those who in faith and repentance receive this anointing may be made whole through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
You are invited to come forward and stand/kneel at the altar rail for prayer and anointing with oil.
Prayer: Almighty God, we pray for those for whom prayer is requested. May they be comforted in their suffering and made whole. When they are afraid, give them courage; when they feel weak, grant them your strength; when they are afflicted, afford them patience; when they are lost, offer them hope; when they are alone, move us to their side; when death comes, open your arms to receive them. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen

Growing in Grace through service:
A.C.T.S Food Pantry: Canned vegetables 15 oz size, low sodium canned vegetables, snack items, individually packed, Pop-top canned prepared meals suitable for our homeless clients, single serve prepared food suitable for our homeless clients, laundry detergent, dish detergent, cleaning supplies in general, toiletries and personal hygiene items, size 4T pull-ups, size 6 diapers, dog food.
Cokesbury will provide dinner to the Hilda Barg Family Shelter on July 23, 2023. (Note: this is a Sunday.) The menu will be Chicken a La King over biscuits, tossed salad, and corn on the cob. We will also be providing 1 gallon of a breakfast juice. Dinner is served at 7 pm. Right now, there are 23 adults and 7 children expected. If we are going to serve, I will need 3 volunteers. Please let Bel know if you are interested by calling 703- 494 -5163. I will place a sign-up list in the Narthex of food items needed. If preparing food is inconvenient, donations are welcome.
