Worship Information

Welcome all who worship with us! To our visitors we extend a heartfelt greeting! If you have any questions or need assistance, please see an usher.

Please turn off or silence cell phones and other electronic devices.

When communion is offered it is served by intinction.  We welcome all to the Lord’s Table and you do not need to be a member of Cokesbury UMC or a United Methodist to participate. The only requirement is that you love Christ. At the appropriate time, the ushers will direct the procession to the altar to receive communion. If you do not wish to partake, you may remain seated. Intinction means you will be breaking off a small portion of bread and dipping it in the juice before placing the bread in your mouth. You may then approach the altar rail for a short prayer before returning to your seat.

Each person visiting is requested to sign and date a connect card located in the pew rack. Please fill in all sections on both sides of the card. Please place the completed card in the offering plate during the collection of tithes and offerings.

Prayer requests may be written on a prayer card located in the pew rack. Please place the completed prayer request in the offering plate during the collection of tithes and offerings.

– Altar Flowers – If you would like to put flowers on the altar in honor or memory of loved ones, or simply “because,” please sign up on the chart in the Narthex.  Flower arrangements are $25.  Payment  may be placed  in the offering plate, and  indicate that it is for flowers.

All children are invited to go forward for a children’s message with the pastor during children’s time. Following children’s time, the children may participate in Children’s Worship time in the Fellowship Hall.

Hearing enhancement devices and large-print bulletins, Bibles, and hymnals are available. Please see an usher for assistance.

Children are welcome in worship! If younger children become fussy, you are welcome to use the chairs in the narthex. A nursery room (if needed) is provided upstairs for infants and toddlers during the service.
