Hymn – Jesus Shall Reign – UMH 157
Jesus shall reign wherever the sun
does it successive journeys run;
his kingdom spread from shore to shore,
till moons shall wax and wane no more.
To Jesus endless prayer be made,
and endless praises crown his head;
his name like sweet perfume shall rise
with every morning sacrifice.
People and realms of every tongue
dwell on his love with sweetest song;
and infant voices shall proclaim
their early blessings on his name.
Blessings abound where’er he reigns;
all prisoners leap and loose their chains;
the weary find eternal rest,
and all who suffer want are blest.
Let every creature rise and bring
honors peculiar to our King;
angels descend with songs again,
and earth repeat the loud amen!

Praises and Prayer Concerns

Pastoral Prayer – Pastor
Prayer for Illumination: On this day when we celebrate Christ’s reign over all of creation and in our lives, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that, as the Scriptures are read and your Word proclaimed, we may hear with joy what you say to us today. Amen.

Scripture Reading – Ephesians 5:21-22, 6:1, 4-5, 9
Submit to each other out of respect for Christ. For example wives should submit to their husbands as if to the Lord. As for husbands, love your wives just like Christ loved the church and gave himself for her. As for children, obey your parents in the Lord, because it is right. As for parents, don’t provoke your children. As for slaves, obey your human masters with fear and trembling and with sincere devotion to Christ. As for masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Stop threatening them because you know that both of you have a master in heaven. He doesn’t distinguish between people on the basis of status.
L: The Word of God in scripture; for the Word of God within us and for the Word of God among us we say:
All: Thanks be to God.

Message – Pastor Gayle

Offering Song – Have Thine Own Way, Lord – UMH 382
Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Thou art the potter; I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after thy will,
while I am waiting, yielded and still.
Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Search me and try me, Savior today!
Wash me just now, Lord, wash me just now,
as in thy presence humbly I bow.
Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Wounded and weary, help me I pray!
Power, all power, surely is thine!
Touch me and heal me, Savior divine!
Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Hold o’er my being absolute sway.
Fill with thy Spirit till all shall see
Christ only, always, living in me!

Song – Guide My Feet – TFWS 2208
Guide my feet while I run this race.
Guide my feet while I run this race.
Guide my feet while I run this race,
for I don’t want to run this race in vain!
Hold my hand while I run this race.
Hold my hand while I run this race.
Hold my hand while I run this race,
for I don’t want to run this race in vain!
Stand by me while I run this race.
Stand by me while I run this race.
Stand by me while I run this race,
for I don’t want to run this race in vain!
