Welcome

Call to Worship
L: Praise the Lord!
All: It is good to sing praise to our God!
L: The Lord rebuilds and gathers up. The Lord heals the brokenhearted and bandages the wounds.
All: God counts the stars by number and gives each one a name.
L: Our God is great. Let us worship the Lord!

Song – Great is the Lord – TFWS 2022
Michael W. Smith and Deborah D. Smith
Refrain:
Great is the Lord, he is holy and just;
by his power we trust in his love.
Great is the Lord, he is faithful and true;
by his mercy he proves he is love.

Great is the Lord and worthy of glory!
Great is the Lord and worthy of praise.
Great is the Lord; now lift up your voice, now lift up your voice;
Great is the Lord. Great is the Lord
Refrain
Great are you, Lord, and worthy of glory!
Great are you, Lord, and worthy of praise.
Great are you, Lord, I lift up my voice, I lift up my voice.
Great are you, Lord! Great are you, Lord!

Prayer
Eternal God, rock and refuge; with roots grown old in the earth, river beds run dry, and flowers withered in the field, we wait for revival and release. Abide with us until we come alive in the sunrise of your glory. Amen.

Children’s Message

Scripture Reading – Jeremiah 29:4-7
Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, to all the exiles whom I have sent into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Take wives and have sons and daughters; take wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, that they may bear sons and daughters; multiply there and do not decrease. But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.
L: For the Word of God in scripture; for the Word of God within us and for the Word of God among us we say:
All: Thanks be to God.

Pastoral Prayer

Prayer of Confession – UMH 8
Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Benediction
Be filled with the Holy Spirit. May your hearts be enkindled with the flame of the Spirit and your spirits be awakened and empowered to proclaim the mighty works of God within and among us; to walk the healing and reconciling path of Jesus; and be led and equipped by the Holy Spirit to be instruments of peace and channels of God’s grace.
