Greeting the Lord
Call to Worship
L: Let us praise the Lord with our whole being: our hearts, minds, and voices.
All: Lord, as long as I live, I will praise you with all of life.
L: God is faithful forever. The person whose hope rests on the Lord is truly happy!
All: Lord, help me to put my trust in you no matter what is before me.
L: The Lord makes the blind to see and straightens up those who are bent low.
All: Open our eyes Lord, and lift up our heads.
Song: Be Thou My Vision UMH 451
Mary E. Byrnes, Eleanor H. Hull CCLI# 30639
Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
naught be all else to me, save that thou art.
Thou my best thought, by day or by night,
waking or sleeping, thy presence my light.
Be thou my wisdom and thou my true word;
I ever with thee and thou with me, Lord;
thou and thou only, first in my heart,
great God of heaven, my treasure thou art.
Great God of heaven, my victory won,
may I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
still be my vision, O Ruler of all.
Prayer: Let us pray together:
(All) Great God of heaven, our Creator, Savior and Nurturer, help us to draw near to you as you draw near to us. Open our eyes to your vision. Open our ears to hear you speak to us in this time together and every day of our lives. Amen.
Listening for the Lord
Scripture Mark 8:22-26
They came to Bethsaida. Some people brought a blind man to him and begged him to touch him. He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village; and when he had put saliva on his eyes and laid his hands on him, he asked him, “Can you see anything?” And the man looked up and said, “I can see people, but they look like trees, walking.” Then Jesus laid his hands on his eyes again; and he looked intently and his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. Then he sent him away to his home, saying, “Do not even go into the village.”
L: The word of God for the people of God.
All: Thanks be to God.
Song: Open our Eyes Lord TFWS 2086
Bob Cull CCLI# 1572
Open our eyes Lord, we want to see Jesus;
to reach out and touch him and say that we love him.
Open our ears Lord, and help us to listen.
Open our eyes Lord we want to Jesus.

Prayer of Confession UMH 8
Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Great Thanksgiving UMH 9
P: The Lord be with you
All: And also with you.
P: Lift up your hearts.
All: We lift them up to the Lord.
P: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
All: It is right to give our thanks and praise.
P: It is right and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give thanks to you, Almighty God, Creator of Heaven and earth. How precious is your steadfast love, O God!
All: We take refuge in the shadow of your wings. We feast in the abundance of your house,
P: You give us drink from the river of your delights. For with you is the fountain of life;
All: in your light we see light. Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
P: From the rising of the sun to its setting your name is praised among all peoples. And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven we praise your name and join their unending hymn:
All: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
P: As we proclaim the mystery of our faith:
All: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.
P: Pour out your Holy Spirit on us gathered here, and on these gifts of bread and wine. Make them be for us the body and blood of Christ, so that we may be for the world the body of Christ, redeemed by his blood, All: So that by our witness all the world might proclaim Jesus Christ is Lord.
P: By your Spirit make us one with Christ,
All: Make us one with each other and one in ministry to all the world.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial, and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
Song Spirit Song UMH 347
John Wimber CCLI# 27824
O let the Son of God enfold you with his Spirit and his love.
Let him fill your heart and satisfy your soul.
O let him have the things that hold you, and his Spirit like a dove
will descend upon your life and make you whole.
Refrain: Jesus, O Jesus, come and fill your lambs.
Jesus, O Jesus, come and fill your lambs.
O come and sing this song of gladness as your hearts are filled with joy.
Lift your hands in sweet surrender to his name.
O give him all your tears and sadness; give him all your years of pain,
and you’ll enter into life in Jesus’ name.
Refrain
Sharing the Bread and Cup

Prayer of Thanksgiving
Eternal God, we give you thanks for this holy mystery in which you have given yourself to us. Reveal to us the spiritual gifts we have been give. Grant that we may go into the world in the strength of your Spirit, to give ourselves for others, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Song Victory in Jesus UMH 370
Eugene M. Bartlett CCLI# 1259
I heard an old, old story, how a Savior came from glory,
how he gave his life on Calvary to save a wretch like me;
I heard about his groaning, of his precious’s blood atoning,
then I repented of my sins and won the victory.
Refrain: O victory in Jesus, my Savior forever!
He sought me and bought me with his redeeming blood;
he loved me ere I knew him and all my love is due him;
he plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.
I heard about his healing, of his cleansing power revealing,
how he made the lame to walk again and caused the blind to see;
and then I cried, “Dear Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit.”
And somehow Jesus came and brought to me the victory.
Refrain
Benediction
Be still and let the presence of God come and sit with you. Be still and let the love of God wash over you. Be still and listen. May the Holy Spirit give us sight to see the new thing God is doing in the world and ears to hear Christ call to us in this season.
