Call to worship:
Blessed be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who in his great mercy has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and into a heritage that can never be spoilt or soiled or fade away.
Psalm 93

L: The Lord is king, robed in majesty.
All: The Lord is girded with power
L: The world is indeed set firm, it can never be shaken.
All: Your throne, O Lord is set firm from of old, from all eternity you exist.
L: Greater than the voice of many waters, more majestic than the breakers of the sea, God is majestic in the heights.
All: Your decrees stand firm, unshakeable, holiness is the beauty of your house.

Song Medley – There’s Something About That Name UMH 171 and Fairest Lord Jesus UMH 189:
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! There’s just something about that name!
Master, Savior, Jesus! Like the fragrance after the rain. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!
Let all heaven and earth proclaim: Kings and kingdoms will all pass away,
but there’s something about that name!

Fairest Lord Jesus, Ruler of all nature, O thou of God and man the Son,
Thee will I cherish, thee will in honor, Thou my soul’s glory, joy and crown.
Beautiful Savior! Lord of all the nations! Son of God and Son of man!
Glory and honor, praise, adoration, Now and forevermore be thine.

Prayer:
Our hearts are full of praise, O God, because of your wonderful works. You are almighty, the King of Creation, over which you rule with kindness and justice. You prosper and sustain us so that we can serve you in your Kingdom now and through eternity. Come Holy Spirit, help us worship the Father in spirit and in truth through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. (Constance Cherry, Worship and Song)

Scripture – Revelation 1:4b-8:
John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, from the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first-born from the dead, and the ruler of the king of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and made us a kingdom, priests serving his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Look! He is coming with the clouds; every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and on his account all the tribes of the earth will wail. So it is to be. Amen. “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.
L: The word of God for the people of God.
All: Thanks be to God!

Song – You Are Worthy – The Faith We Sing 2063:
You are worthy, God almighty, praise and honor to you belong.
You are worthy, God almighty, praise and honor to you belong.
King all glorious, all victorious, praise and honor are yours alone.
King all glorious, all victorious, praise and honor are yours alone.
Traditional Latin American, translated by Raquel Mora Martinez

Sermon Rev. Gayle Porias

Prayer of Confession – UMH 8:
All: Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Pastor: In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
All: In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. Glory to God. Amen.

Song – O How I Love Jesus – UMH 170:
There is a name I love to hear, I love to sing its worth;
it sounds like music in my ear, the sweetest name of earth.
O how I love Jesus. O how I love Jesus. O how I love Jesus. Because he first loved me!
It tells me of a Savior’s love, who died to set me free;
it tells me of his precious blood, the sinner’s perfect plea.
O how I love Jesus O how I love Jesus. O how I love Jesus. Because he first loved me!
It tells of one whose loving heart can feel my deepest woe;
who in each sorrow bears a part that none can bear below.
O how I love Jesus O how I love Jesus. O how I love Jesus. Because he first loved me!

Prayer of Dedication and Intercession

The Lord’s Supper

The Great Thanksgiving – UMH 9:
P: The Lord be with you.
All: And also with you.
P: Lift up your hearts.
All: We lift them up to the Lord.
P: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
All: It is right and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give thanks to you, Almighty God, creator of heaven and earth.
P: And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven we praise your name and join their unending hymn:
All: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
P: In remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ’s offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith.
All: Christ has died, Christ has risen, Christ will come again.
P: …all honor and glory is yours, almighty Father, now and forever.
All: Amen

The Lord’s Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial, and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen.

The Bread and Cup

Song – Let Us Break Bread Together – UMH 618:
Let us break bread together on our knees, (on our knees).
Let us break bread together on our knees, (on our knees).
When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun, O Lord, have mercy on me (on me).
Let us drink wine together on our knees (on our knees).
Let us drink wine together on our knees (on our knees).
When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun, O Lord, have mercy on me (on me).

Prayer of Thanksgiving:
All: Eternal God, we give you thanks for this holy mystery in which you have given yourself to us. Grant that we may go into the world in the strength of your Spirit, to give ourselves for others, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
